Have you checked out http://www.seterra.net/? You can play online or download this awesome geography game (Windows only). Test your knowledge of all things geography! This will be a wonderful addition to our homeschool geography curriculum this year! Here is a screenshot of the downloadable game in world mode:

Some of the other ways to play: Cities, Provinces, Capitals, States, Rivers, Oceans, Mountains, and Flags! I plan on using this as well! This game keeps track of your time to complete each level, and the percentage of correct answers. You can also complete quizzes after you have played in game mode to check your progress.
